  • Happy New Year !

    January 15th 2017

It has been a fabulous start to the Spring term with a range of new initiatives beginning and the children quickly settling back into school life. We are pleased to welcome Miss Thompson and Mr Moor to St Mary’s, and look forward to all the new ideas and opportunities they will bring for the children, not least the archery which begins this Thursday!

The Spring term in many ways is my favourite time of the school year, with the children able to demonstrate a growing confidence that will allow them to excel in all areas of learning,  so with that in mind (and weather permitting) we will be arranging  several trips to provide the life experiences they require to make learning truly meaningful, from life boat stations to police stations, from farms to sporting events St Mary’s will definitely be on their travels this term.

Our next phase of the outdoor learning environment starts this term with staff receiving training from a national leader in forest schools in February, so once this has happened we will be quickly developing the Forest School area at the back of schools we can all enjoy a little more “outdoor’ time in the lead up to summer! As usual we are looking for any green finger volunteers to help in the school garden this year, so if you are interested please see Mrs McLeod in the school office and she will sign you up.

Please follow us on our twitter or Facebook pages, that way you will be able to keep up to date with everything as it happens at St Mary’s. (Links at the bottom of the page).
